A Highly Selective and Stable Ruthenium‐Nickel Supported on Ceria Catalyst for Carbon Dioxide Methanation

نویسندگان

چکیده

The performance of nickel, ruthenium, and nickel-ruthenium impregnated on cerium oxide catalysts was tested in the methanation carbon dioxide reaction. nickel ruthenium contents were 4 0.4 wt%, respectively. properties studied using elementary analysis, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller specific surface area measurements, X-ray diffraction, temperature programmed reduction, desorption, H2 chemisorption transmission electron microscopy. results showed that addition improves catalytic by promoting dispersion species over support. ruthenium-nickel combination produced a stable catalyst did not show any deactivation even after 75 hours on-stream. At high feed gas total pressures (5 10 bar), conversions CO2 close to thermodynamic equilibrium values with 100 % selectivity towards CH4 formation.

A comparative study on the kinetics of carbon dioxide methanation over bimetallic and monometallic catalysts

In this paper, Ni/Al and La-Ni/Al catalysts were prepared with a co-impregnation method and employed in carbon dioxide methanation reaction. The catalytic results showed that the catalyst with (10wt.%) of lanthanum and (20wt.%) nickel had the highest activity at low temperatures in CO2 methanation and the La-Ni/Al catalysts changed the reaction path by lowering its activation energy and consequ...

Selective catalytic reduction of sulfur dioxide by carbon monoxide over iron oxide supported on activated carbon

The selective reduction of sulfur dioxide with carbon monoxide to elemental sulfur was studied over ACsupported transition-metal oxide catalysts. According to the study, Fe2O3 /AC was the most active catalyst among the 4 AC-supported catalysts tested. By using Fe2O3 /AC, the best catalyst, when the feed conditions were properly optimized (CO/SO2 molar ratio = 2:1; sulfidation temperature, 400 ◦...

Hydrogenation of Anthracene in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Solvent Using Ni Supported on Hβ-Zeolite Catalyst

Catalytic hydrogenation of anthracene was studied over Ni supported on Hβ-zeolite catalyst under supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) solvent. Hydrogenation of anthracene in sc-CO2 yielded 100% conversion at 100 °C, which is attributed to the reduced mass transfer limitations, and increased solubility of H2 and substrate in the reaction medium. The total pressure of 7 MPa was found to be optim...
